Story
"Canvas is the only white chameleon in a very particular chameleon village. Since he lacks the ability to change color by himself, he has been made fun of since birth. Also, his natural color stands out heavily compared with the environment, but he has managed to survive until now, thanks to the help of his only friend, Doodle.
Doodle (or "Dood" to his friends), being an artist himself, came up with the idea of using Canvas' white body as a literal canvas for his paintings, making up Canvas' lack of natural camouflage to some extent.
But, to do so, Dood needs a lot of color butterflies, from which he extracts the pigments needed to create the camouflage for Canvas.
So our adventure begins, with Canvas and Dood seeking the miraculous color butterflies in some ancient ruins near the village.
But the peaceful lives of the chameleons will change soon..."

Gameplay
Starting off Canvaleon, I was introduced with a cut scene that explained Canvas', the main character, story which really gave me an understanding of what was going on. After that, I played the "tutorial" level. The tutorial level, however, was missing some key points such as how to get pass an enemy without being spotted easily. However, later in the game, I was able to figure out how to do this. The controls we're quite simple, but if you do not like the controls, you can simply change the controls in the settings.
When you complete the first level, you have access to the paint shop which allows you to buy camouflage designs and also allows you to create your own designs which you will need to blend in with your surroundings to avoid enemies. The currency/materials needed are butterflies, which can be collected throughout levels.
After you complete the first level, you also gain access to 7 other worlds which each start off with 1 level. Each level, is specially crafted with gorgeous art and beautiful music. However, don't be fooled by the kind-looking art, as these levels are really challenging and require timing, skill, and some artistic abilities. After taking one hit from an enemy or spike, you're dead! Completing a level, unlocks another level or two. The final level of each world is a "Boss Battle." After you defeat a boss, you unlock special abilities such as double-jumps, tongue attack, and more. In total, there are more than 30 games which take about 10+ hours depending on your skill. The replay value, is also fine, as throughout the game you can collect musical CD's to play, and you can also get "graded" on each level depending on how well you did.

Final Thoughts
Overall, I really enjoyed playing Canvaleon. It is a really unique and creatively-made game. I recommend it to people who enjoy harder games rather than easier games. You should also have a basic sense of timing.
Overall Score: 9/10
