Gameplay
When I first started playing "Cube Life: Island Survival", I honestly expected it to be another Minecraft clone. However, this game had a twist. It stands out from other "sandbox" games. Below, is a list of some unique things featured in this game:
When you first start, you start off on a tiny island. You, the player, talks to himself in-game, giving you hints at what you should and shouldn't be doing. You can keep exploring and learning things by trial-and-error, however I don't recommend this, due to the fact that if you die, you restart. This was one thing that I liked but also didn't like.
While playing the game, I found myself testing out different features. For example, finding out that cute(ish) pigs can hurt you, some zombies can break into your house, learning that Natives can be hostile, and more. Some things, I had to find out the hard way. Luckily, there is an in-game guide for crafting, which is really useful.
Another feature in Cube Life: Island Survival is day and night cycles. Each cycle is 10 or 12 minutes as far as I know. I felt that the cycles lasted forever, especially at night time. If I could change one thing about the game, it would have to be shortening the night and day cycle, or maybe even making day time last longer than night time.
As of right now, there are 2 game modes- Survival and Creative. Survival is the main story while creative is having fun and having an unlimited supply of building materials. There is also local multiplayer for 2 players.
- A thirst bar, rather than just a hunger bar (which is also in there).
- A MUCH spookier nighttime atmosphere. Creepy music, zombies, and more.
- Little things such as fish, shells, and more in the ocean.
- A great plot/story to go along with the game.
- Unique enemies.
- Beautiful graphics.
